Porcelain Veneers

Visiting a new dentist can come with a few questions. You may wonder what your appointment will involve, how long it will take, or what happens if your dentist finds something that needs attention. At Grinnell Street Dental, we want you to feel comfortable and know what to expect before you arrive.

From your first visit, our goal is to make dental care feel straightforward, comfortable, and personal. We’ll take the time to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and understand your dental needs.

We'll Start With a Conversation

Before your examination, Dr. Justin Coon and our team will spend some time getting to know you. We’ll ask about your dental history, any symptoms or concerns you may have, and what you’d like to accomplish with your dental care.

Maybe you’re looking for a dentist to help you maintain your oral health with regular preventive care. Perhaps you have a tooth that is bothering you, or you’re interested in improving your smile with treatment such as veneers or Invisalign.

Whatever brings you to our office, this conversation helps us understand your needs before we recommend any treatment.

A Thorough Dental Examination

Next, we’ll evaluate your oral health. Dr. Coon may examine your teeth, gums, bite, and other areas of your mouth based on your individual needs. We may look for concerns such as tooth decay, gum disease, damaged teeth, or problems that may affect your bite and jaw.

When appropriate, our office may use modern dental technology, including PreXion scanning technology and digital impression technology, to support your examination or treatment planning. Digital impressions use an intraoral scanner to create digital images of your teeth and oral structures and may be used for certain types of treatment.

We'll Explain What We Find

After your examination, we’ll explain what we found and answer any questions you may have. We’ll use simple, easy-to-understand language so you can clearly understand your oral health and any treatment options we recommend.

If treatment is recommended, we’ll discuss the available options and explain what each one involves. We’ll also review estimated costs, insurance considerations, and financing options when applicable.

Our goal is to make sure you have the information you need to make informed decisions about your dental care.

Planning Your Next Steps

Not every first visit results in a long treatment plan. Depending on your oral health and the purpose of your appointment, your next step may be a routine preventive visit, a cleaning, additional diagnostic evaluation, or recommended treatment.

If you need treatment, we’ll work with you to determine the appropriate next steps based on your dental needs and preferences. We’ll make sure you understand your options and have an opportunity to ask questions.
